I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Science and Industry Research Act 1949.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Science and Industry Research (Gifts, Trusts and Contracts) Regulations 2000.

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3              Science and Industry Research (Contracts) Regulations — repeal

                Statutory Rules 1990 No. 330 is repealed.

4              Definition

                In these Regulations:

Act means the Science and Industry Research Act 1949.

5              Acceptance of gifts etc and holding money etc on trust

                For subsection 9A (1A) of the Act, the amount is $5 000 000.  

6              Payment or receipt of consideration for contracts

                For section 50 of the Act, the amount is $5 000 000.
