This Proclamation amends the Quarantine Proclamation 1998 to lift the requirements on a person to obtain a permit prior to the importation of nominated products into Australia, imposes a requirement on a person to obtain a permit prior to the importation of other nominated products into Australia, alters the conditions under which certain prohibited goods are allowed into Australia without a permit, proclaims a new airport to be a first port of entry into Australia, and extends these same proposed amendments to the Cocos Islands.
