Superannuation (CSS) Eligible Employees Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 1)

I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Superannuation Act 1976.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Superannuation (CSS) Eligible Employees Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on the commencement of the Public Service Act 1999.

3              Amendment of Superannuation (CSS) Eligible Employees Regulations

                Schedule 1 amends the Superannuation (CSS) Eligible Employees Regulations.

                          (i)    immediately before the commencement of the Public Service Act 1999, were not eligible employees; and

                         (ii)    on the commencement of the Public Service Act 1999, became APS employees for the purposes of that Act and permanent employees for the purposes of the Superannuation Act 1976; and

                        (iii)    have not subsequently ceased to be APS employees for the purposes of the Public Service Act 1999; and

                        (iv)    have not requested, in writing, to be treated as eligible employees.
