Superannuation (Continuing Contributions for Benefits) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Superannuation Act 1976.

1. Commencement
1.1 Subregulation 3.6 is taken to have commenced on 7 March 1988.
1.2 Regulation 4 is taken to have commenced on 1 July 1990.

2. Amendment
2.1 The Superannuation (Continuing Contributions for Benefits) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.
3. Regulation 3a (Classes of persons to which section 14A of the Act applies)
3.1 Subparagraph 3a (a) (i):
Omit the subparagraph, substitute:
“(i) is employed by AIDC Ltd., except on a casual or temporary part-time basis; and”.
3.2 Subparagraph 3a (a) (ii):
Omit the subparagraph, substitute:
“(ii) is not a person to whom Division 2 or 3 of Part IV of the Public Service Act applies; and”.
3.3 Subparagraph 3a (d) (ii):
Omit “(other than a person to whom Part IV of the Public Service Act applied)”
3.4 Subparagraph 3a (d) (iii):
Omit “applying” and “(if any)”.
3.5 Subparagraph 3a (d) (iv):
Omit the subparagraph, substitute:
“(iv) is not a person to whom Division 2 or 3 of Part IV of the Public Service Act applies.”.
3.6 Add at the end:
“;(e) a class of persons each of whom:
(i) is employed by the Northern Land Council, except on a casual or temporary part-time basis; and
(ii) became, or last became, so employed on or after 7 March 1988; and
(iii) immediately before last becoming so employed was an eligible employee; and
(iv) is not a member of a superannuation scheme, other than the scheme constituted under the Act, in relation to that person’s employment by the Northern Land Council; and

(v) is not a person to whom Division 2 or 3 of Part IV of the Public Service Act applies; and
(vi) in the case of a person who became employed as mentioned in subparagraph (i) before 1 January 1992—requests in writing before that date to be treated as an eligible employee.”.
4. Schedule (Modifications of the Act)
4.1 Subclause 2.1:
Add at the end:
“;and
(d) the Northern Land Council”.
