Health Insurance Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

1. Commencement
1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 July 1994.
2. Amendment
2.1 The Health Insurance Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.
3. Regulation 24
3.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:
Allowances for witnesses at hearings before a Professional Services Review Committee
“24. For the purposes of subsection 106C (1) of the Act, the allowances payable in respect of attendance by a witness at a hearing before a Professional Services Review Committee are the allowances ascertained by the Committee in accordance with Schedule 2.”.
4. Schedule 2
4.1 Clause 5:
Omit all the words after “means”, substitute “a Professional Services Review Committee”.
5. Transitional
5.1 Allowances payable to a witness under regulation 24 and Schedule 2 of the Health Insurance Regulations as in force on 30 June 1994 continue to be payable on and after 1 July 1994 in respect of a matter mentioned in subsection 12 (1) of the Health Legislation (Professional Services Review) Amendment Act 1994, until that matter is concluded.
