Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Superannuation Act 1976.

Commencement

1. These Regulations commence on 1 June 1989.

Persons not included in definition of “eligible employee”

2. Regulation 4 of the Superannuation (Eligible Employees) Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following paragraph:

“(zg) persons who:

(i) immediately before 1 June 1989:

(a) were employed under section 82ac of the Public Service Act in the Department of Administrative Services and were performing duties in the Transport and Storage Group; and

(b) were not eligible employees;

(ii) on 1 June 1989 are appointed to be officers of the Australian Public Service under section 42 or section 42a of the Public Service Act and continue to be, and are, such officers; and

(iii) have not requested that they be treated as eligible employees.”.
