A.C.T. Self-Government (Consequential
Provisions) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the A.C.T. Self-Government (Consequential Provisions) Act 1988.

Commencement
1. These Regulations are to be taken to have commenced on 11 May 1989.
Principal Regulations
2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the A.C.T. Self-Government (Consequential Provisions) Regulations.
Schedule 1
3. Schedule 1 to the A.C.T. Self-Government (Consequential Provisions) Regulations is amended by inserting in its appropriate alphabetical position (determined on a letter-by-letter basis according to the citation of the legislation to be modified) the following:
Employment, Education and Training Act 1988
Subsection 3 (1) (definition of “State”):
After “includes” insert “the Australian Capital Territory and”.

Subsection 3 (1) definition of (“State Minister”):
Omit paragraphs (a) and (b), substitute the following paragraphs:
“(a) a Minister of the Crown of a State other than the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory: or
(b) a person holding the office of Chief Minister or Minister under the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988: or
(c) a person holding ministerial office under section 36 of the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978;
Subsection 3 (1) (definition of “Territory”):
Before “the Northern Territory” in paragraph (a) insert “the Australian Capital Territory or”.
Paragraph 43 (1) (a):
Add at the end “and”.
Paragraph 43 (1) (b):
Omit the paragraph,
Paragraph 43 (1) (c):
Omit “7”, substitute “8”.
Section 44:
Omit “Minister, or State Minister,”, substitute “State Minister”.
Section 45:
Omit “Minister, or State Minister,”, substitute “State Minister”,
Subsection 46 (2):
Omit “Minister, or State Minister,”, substitute “State Minister”.
