Foreign Judgments Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and being satisfied, in respect of the United Kingdom, of the matters specified in subsection 5 (3) of the Foreign Judgments Act 1991, make the following Regulations under that Act.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 September 1994.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Foreign Judgments Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 5 (Specified inferior courts)

3.1    Add at the end:

           “(2)   Part 2 of the Act extends in relation to the following inferior courts of the United Kingdom:

             (a)   County Courts (England and Wales);

             (b)   County Courts (Northern Ireland);

             (c)   Sheriff Courts (Scotland).”.
