Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration

and Allowances) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Act 1984.

Regulation 3 of the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Remuneration of officer appointed Director of the Australian War Memorial

3. (1) If a person appointed to hold the office of Director of the Australian War Memorial was, immediately before the appointment, an officer of the Australian Public Service having a classification of Senior Executive Level 5, the person is to be paid, during the period of the appointment (including any period of re-appointment) to the office of Director of the Australian War Memorial, in lieu of the remuneration and expenses of office allowance (if any) payable in respect of that office, remuneration at the rate specified in subregulation (2).

(2) For the purposes of subregulation (1), the specified rate is:

(a) in respect of the period commencing on 4 January 1990 and ending on 4 July 1990 - $82,333 per annum; and

(b) in respect of the period commencing on 5 July 1990 - $89,084 per annum.
