Superannuation (Period of Contributory Service) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Superannuation Act 1976.

1.   Commencement

1.1   Regulation 4 is taken to have commenced on 23 June 1995.

[NOTE: The remainder of these Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Superannuation (Period of Contributory Service) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 1 (Citation)

3.1   Omit “(Period of Contributory Service)”, substitute “(CSS) Period of Contributory Service”.

4.   Schedule 1 (Modification of the Act in its application in relation to certain persons to whom section 183 of the Act applies)

4.1   Item 1 (substituted definition of “period of contributory service”):

Add at the end:

      “or (k)   a period in respect of which the person was not required or permitted to pay contributions because of subsection 3 (3); or

              (l)   a period in respect of which benefits did not accrue to the person because of section 55A;”.
