Aviation Transport Security Act 2004

 

EXEMPTION FROM DISPLAYING AN AVIATION SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD IN A SECURE AREA

 

 

I, CHRISTINE DEEGAN, Director, Transport Security Operations, Aviation and Maritime Security Division, an authorised Delegate of the Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs, under section 127 of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004, make this notice under the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (the Regulations).

 

This notice is made under subregulation 3.08(3) of the Regulations.

 

I, GIVE contractors and invited guests of Accor Hotels and Mackay Airport Pty Ltd attending a cocktail function at Mackay Airport, an exemption from displaying an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) in the secure area when moving under vehicle escort in the airside area between Gate V20 and the special event zone (SEZ) established in notice NTC-17493.

 

This notice is issued on condition that:

 

1.      Guests are to be produce a pre-purchased ticket or event invitation to the contracted airport security guards positioned at Gate V20 and have guest and contractor identities verified prior to boarding the vehicle escort; and

2.      Movement of invited guests and contractors between Gate V20 and the SEZ is to occur under vehicle escort by a Mackay Airport Pty Ltd staff member or contracted airport security guard that validly displays an ASIC.

 

This exemption operates from 2 pm to 11 pm on 22 November 2019.
