A Bill for an Act to amend the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018, and for related purposes
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act is the Road Vehicle Standards Legislation Amendment Act 2019.
2 Commencement
(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Schedules
Legislation that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendments
Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018
1 Subsection 2(1) (table item 3)
Repeal the item, substitute:
| 3. Sections 15 to 18 | A single day to be fixed by Proclamation. However, if the provisions do not commence before 1 July 2021, they commence on that day. | |
2 Subsection 2(1) (table item 5)
Repeal the item, substitute:
| 5. Section 22 | A single day to be fixed by Proclamation. However, if the provisions do not commence before 1 July 2021, they commence on that day. | |
3 Subsection 2(1) (table item 7)
Repeal the item, substitute:

8 Item 1 of Schedule 1 (heading)
Repeal the heading, substitute:
1 Transitional national road vehicle standards
9 Subitem 1(1) of Schedule 1
Omit “of 12 months beginning on the day the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 receives the Royal Assent”, substitute “beginning on 10 December 2018 and ending on the day before section 15 of the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 commences”.
