A Bill for an Act to amend the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 in relation to anti‑siphoning provisions, and for related purposes
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Broadcasting Legislation Amendment (Anti‑Siphoning) Act 2010.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3 Schedule(s)
(1) Each Act, and each instrument, that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
(2) The amendment of an instrument under subsection (1) does not prevent the instrument, as so amended, from being amended by the Minister in accordance with section 115 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
Schedule 1—Amendments continuing the anti-siphoning list under the Broadcasting Services Act

1 At the end of section 115
Add:
(4) A notice under this section which has the effect of:
(a) amending a notice under subsection (1) to remove an event from that notice; or
(b) revoking a notice, or any part of a notice, under subsection (1); or
(c) placing a time limit on the operation of a notice, or any part of a notice, under subsection (1);
does not come into effect until the expiration of 6 sitting days of each House of the Parliament after the notice is tabled in that House.
