A Bill for an Act to provide for the consideration of matters of public health and safety in the operation of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title

                   This Act may be cited as the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (Public Health and Safety) Amendment Act 2010.

2  Commencement

                   This Act commences on the day after it receives the Royal Assent.

3  Schedule(s)

                   Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

 

Schedule 1—Maclean flying fox colony

 

Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999

1  After section 133

Insert:

133A  Maclean flying fox colony

                   The Minister is deemed to have unconditionally approved, for the purposes of the Act, relocation of the flying fox colony in the northern New South Wales town of Maclean, in the locale of the Maclean High School, upon completion of State approvals by the New South Wales Government.
