1              Name of Determination

                This Determination is the Motor Vehicle Standards (Used Imported Vehicle Report) Determination 2002.

2              Commencement

                This Determination commences on the commencement of the Motor Vehicle Standards Amendment Act 2001.

3              Definitions

         (1)   In this Determination:

Act means the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989.

ADR means the Australian Design Rules.

         (2)   Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or expression that is used in this Determination and in the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations 1989 has the same meaning in this Determination as it has in those Regulations.

Note 1   The following terms are defined in the Act:

·      registered automotive workshop

·      used imported vehicle.

Note 2   The following terms are defined in the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations 1989:

·      Australian Design Rules

·      make

·      model

·      RAW

·      Register of Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles

·      RVCS participant number

·      vehicle category

·      vehicle inspection signatory.

4              Vehicle inspection certificate

                For subsection 13D (2) of the Act, a report in relation to a used imported vehicle (to be known as a vehicle inspection certificate) is to be in the form, and contain the information, set out in Schedule 1.

Vehicle inspection signatories must complete the specific evidence details on page 2 and the sample evidence details on page 3 before completing the declaration below. 

 

This declaration must be made before the certificate is transmitted to DoTaRS.

SPECIFIC EVIDENCE DETAILS

 

Vehicle inspection signatories must provide the document reference number for each piece of evidence held for the listed vehicle that demonstrates how the vehicle is representative of the sample vehicle evidence set out on page 3.  If further space is required then additional sheets may be attached.

SAMPLE EVIDENCE DETAILS

 

The vehicle inspection signatory must provide the document reference number for each piece of sample vehicle evidence held by the signatory that is relevant to the listed vehicle.  For each piece of evidence the relevant Australian Design Rule and the method of compliance must be provided.  If the piece of evidence has not previously been listed on another vehicle inspection certificate, then the vehicle inspection signatory must cross the new evidence cross box.  If further space is required then additional pages may be attached.
