Bounty (Books) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Bounty (Books) Act 1969.

Form of application and declaration
1. Regulation 4 of the Bounty (Books) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting paragraph (1) (e) and substituting the following paragraph:
"(e) be delivered to the appropriate officer—
(i) within 3 months after the date of completion of production of the book to which the application relates; or
(ii) subject to sub-regulation (2), within such period not exceeding 12 months after the date of completion as the Minister allows"; and
(b) by omitting sub-regulation (2) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
"(2) The Minister shall not allow, for the purposes of paragraph (1)(e), a period exceeding the period specified in sub-paragraph (1) (e) (i), unless—
(a) a request in writing for an extended period has, whether before or after the expiration of the period specified in sub-paragraph (1) (e) (i), been made by, or on behalf of, the applicant; and
(b) the application could not, or cannot, reasonably be expected to have been made, or to be made, within that period.".
Particulars required in application for bounty
2. Regulation 5 of the Bounty (Books) Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (f) and substituting the following paragraph:
"(f) such particulars relating to the book as are relevant to determine whether bounty is payable on the production of the book, including its title, author, subject matter, number of printed pages and—
(i) where the publisher has supplied any papers or binding materials to the manufacturer or a manufacturer of the book—details of the quantities supplied and used and the cost (if any) to the manufacturer; and
(ii) where the applicant is the publisher—the cost to him of any paper or binding materials supplied by him free of charge to the manufacturer or a manufacturer of the book;".
