Coarse Grains Levy Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, and having taken into consideration the recommendations made to the Minister of State for Primary Industries and Energy by the Grains Council of Australia in relation to grain sorghum, make the following Regulations under the Coarse Grains Levy Act 1992.

1. Commencement

1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 February 1993.


2. Amendment

2.1 The Coarse Grains Levy Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3. Regulation 3 (Interpretation)

3.1 Insert the following definition:

‘grain sorghum’ means Sorghum Bicolor;”.

4. New regulation 3A

4.1 After regulation 3, insert:

Grain sorghum

“3A. Grain sorghum is prescribed for the purposes of the definition of “leviable coarse grain” in section 3 of the Act.”.

5. New regulation 6

5.1 After regulation 5, insert:

Rates of levy—grain sorghum

“6. For the purposes of subsection 11(2) of the Act, the rate of 0.2% of the value of the grain is prescribed for grain sorghum.”.
