Coarse Grains Levy Regulations

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, and having taken into consideration the recommendations made to the Minister of State for Primary Industries and Energy by the Grains Council of Australia in relation to barley, oats and cereal rye, make the following Regulations under the Coarse Grains Levy Act 1992.

Citation

               1.   These Regulations may be cited as the Coarse Grains Levy  Regulations.

Commencement

               2.   These Regulations commence on 1 October 1992.

Interpretation

               3.   In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“the Act” means the Coarse Grains Levy Act 1992.

Rates of levy - barley

               4.   For the purposes of section 10 of the Act, the rate of $1.10 per tonne is prescribed for barley.

Rates of levy - oats and cereal rye

               5.   For the purposes of subsection 11(1) of the Act, the rate of 1% of the value of the grain is prescribed for oats and cereal rye.
