1 Name of Regulations [see Note 1]
These Regulations are the Honey Levies and Charges Regulations 1998.
2 Commencement
These Regulations commence on 1 July 1998.
3 Rate of export charge
For subsection 7 (1) of the Honey Export Charge Act 1973, the rate is:
(a) for honey exported on or after 1 July 1998 but not after 31 December 1998 — 0.70 cents per kilogram; and
(b) for honey exported on or after 1 January 1999 — 0.75 cents per kilogram.
4 Rate of levy — Levy (No. 1) Act
For paragraph 5 (1) (b) of the Honey Levy (No. 1) Act 1962, the rate is:
(a) for honey sold on or after 1 July 1998 but not after 31 December 1998 — 0.70 cents per kilogram; and
(b) for honey sold on or after 1 January 1999 — 0.75 cents per kilogram.
5 Rate of levy — Levy (No. 2) Act
For paragraph 5 (1) (b) of the Honey Levy (No. 2) Act 1962, the rate is:
(a) for honey used on or after 1 July 1998 but not after 31 December 1998 — 0.70 cents per kilogram; and
(b) for honey used on or after 1 January 1999 — 0.75 cents per kilogram.
6 Repeal of earlier Regulations
The following Statutory Rules are repealed:
• Statutory Rules 1978 No. 244; 1985 No. 242; 1987 No. 107; 1988 No. 253; 1989 Nos. 225 and 310; 1990 No. 369; 1991 No. 407 and 1993 No. 334 (the Honey Export Charge (Rate of Charge) Regulations);
• Statutory Rules 1983 No. 209; 1985 No. 246; 1987 No. 105; 1988 No. 251; 1989 Nos. 226 and 308; 1990 No. 367; 1991 No. 405; 1993 No. 332 and 1995 No. 353 (the Honey Levy (No. 1) Regulations);
• Statutory Rules 1983 No. 210; 1985 No. 247; 1987 No. 106; 1988 No. 252; 1989 Nos. 227 and 309; 1990 No. 368; 1991 No. 406; 1993 No. 333 and 1995 No. 354 (the Honey Levy (No. 2) Regulations).
Note The repeal does not affect levies payable for a period before the repeal — see the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, ss 8 (c) and 46 (1) (a).

6 Savings — regulations repealed by regulation 5
Despite the repeal of regulations by regulation 5, those regulations (as in force or having effect immediately before the commencement of regulation 5) continue to have effect in relation to:
(a) levies and charges imposed before the commencement of Schedule 2; and
(b) exemptions from the obligation to lodge monthly or quarterly returns granted before the commencement of Schedule 2.
