NOTES ON AMENDMENTS
These are technical amendments.
Amendment No. 1
Amendment No. 1 is an amendment to subsection 9(4) of the Act, and is consequential upon the provisions already contained in the Bill. Subsection 9(4) of the Act is a definition provision which refers to the existing sections of the Act which deal with disposal of assets. Amendment No. 1 simply amends that definition to "complete the list" and ensure that the definition also refers to the new sections inserted by the Bill (ie s1126A, s1126B and s1126C).
Amendment No. 2
Amendment No. 2 is a technical amendment to Item 20 of the Bill. The Bill at present refers to the "Budget Measures 1999 Legislation Amendment (Social Security - Disposal of Assets) Act 1999" , which was its original proposed title. This item was overlooked when the Bill was retitled during the drafting process.
