An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1987
[Assented to 15 March 1995]
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
Short title etc.
1.(1) This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act 1995.
(2) In this Act, "Principal Act" means the Customs Tariff Act 19871.
Commencement
2.(1) Sections 1 and 2 commence on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
(2) Section 3 is taken to have commenced on 1 January 1992.
(3) Section 4 is taken to have commenced on 11 May 1994.
(4) Section 5 is taken to have commenced on 1 July 1994.
(5) Section 6 is taken to have commenced on 7 July 1994.
(6) Section 7 is taken to have commenced on 23 September 1994.
(7) Section 8 commences 14 days after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
(8) Section 9 commences on 1 July 1995.
Amendments of Schedule 3 having effect from 1 January 1992
3. The Principal Act is amended:
(a) by omitting from Subheading Note 1 to Chapter 4 of Schedule 3 "has" and substituting "have";
(b) by omitting from Subheading 2818.10 in Schedule 3 all the words after "2818.10" and substituting "Artificial corundum, whether or not chemically defined:";
(c) by omitting paragraph (e) to Note 1 to Chapter 94 of Schedule 3 and substituting:
"(e) Furniture specially designed as parts of refrigerating or freezing equipment of 8418; furniture specially designed for sewing machines of 8452;".

4. The Principal Act is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

5. The Principal Act is amended as set out in Schedule 2.

6. The Principal Act is amended by omitting from item 63 of Schedule 4 "assessement" and substituting "assessment".
