HIGH COMMISSIONER (UNITED KINGDOM) ACT

HIGH COMMISSIONER (STAFF) REGULATIONS

Statutory Rules 1966, No. 76(a)

Salary of officers

1. Regulation 24 of the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulations (1.), (2.) and (3.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulation:—

“ (1.) An officer who occupies an office specified in the Fourth Schedule to these Regulations shall, subject to this Division, be paid salary at the rate, or in accordance with the scale of rates, specified in that Schedule opposite to that office”.

“(2.) The Fourth Schedule to the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—

Authority for payment of allowance.

3. An officer or employee who, in the period that commenced on the first day of January, 1966, and ended on the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations performed the duties of an office specified in the Fourth Schedule to the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations as amended by these Regulations shall be paid an allowance of such an amount as would result in the total remuneration of the officer or employee for that period being not less than the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the first day of January, 1966.
