No. 2 of 1964.

An Act to amend the Public Service Act 1922–1960.

[Assented to 4th March, 1964.]

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.)  This Act may be cited as the Public Service Act 1964.

(2.)  The Public Service Act 1922–1960 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.)  The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Public Service Act 1922–1964.

Commencement.

2.  This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the seventeenth day of December, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-three.

Second Schedule.

3.  The Second Schedule to the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting the words “The Department of Trade.” and inserting in their stead the words “The Department of Trade and Industry.”; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the words “The Department of Housing.”.

Third Schedule.

4.  The Third Schedule to the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting the words “The Secretary to the Department of Trade.” and inserting in their stead the words “The Secretary to the Department of Trade and Industry.”; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the words “The Secretary to the Department of Housing.”.
