An Act to amend the Bills of Exchange Act 1909–1912.

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Bills of Exchange Act 1932.
(2.) The Bills of Exchange Act 1909–1912 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Bills of Exchange Act 1909–1932.
2. After section eighty-eight of the Principal Act the following section is inserted in Division 2 of Part III.:—
Cheques drawn by a bank on itself.
“88a. For the purposes of this division ‘cheque’ includes a banker’s draft payable on demand drawn by or on behalf of a bank upon itself, whether payable at the head office or at some other office of the Bank.”.
