AUDIT.

 

No. 18 of 1926.

An Act to amend the Audit Act 1901–1924.

[Assented to 4th June, 1926.]

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.)     This Act may be cited as the Audit Act 1926.

(2.)    The Audit Act 1901–1924 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.)   The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Audit Act 1901–1926.

Salary of Auditor-General.

2.  Section four of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “One thousand five hundred” and inserting in their stead the words “One thousand seven hundred and fifty”.

3.  After section five of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:—

Auditor-General to retire at sixty-five.

“5a.  The Auditor-General for the Commonwealth shall cease to hold office upon attaining the age of sixty-five years.”.
