An Act to amend the Fair Work Act 2009 for the purpose of exempting contraventions of employee right to disconnect stop orders from being a criminal offence

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title

  This Act is the Fair Work Amendment Act 2024.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1.  The whole of this Act

At the same time as Part 8 of Schedule 1 to the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes No. 2) Act 2024 commences.

However, the provisions do not commence at all if that Part does not commence.

1  After paragraph 675(2)(f)

Insert:

 (fa) an order under Division 6 of Part 29 (which deals with the employee right to disconnect);
