Pounds Regulations

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pounds Regulations.
1A. In these Regulations, “Act” means the Pounds Act 1934.
2. Any person impounding any stock in a pound shall give notice to the poundkeeper thereof in accordance with Form 1 in the Schedule.
3. A notice of the impounding of any stock not claimed by the owner or by some person on his behalf within 24 hours after being impounded shall be posted at the pound and on or near to the Court House, Norfolk Island, by the poundkeeper in accordance with Form 2 in the Schedule.
4. For the purposes of section 9 of the Act, the fees shall be, in respect of each animal impounded —
(a) $20 for the first day or part of a day on which the animal is impounded; and
(b) $10 for each day or part of a day, after that first day, during which the animal remains impounded.
5. The poundkeeper shall keep a Pound Book in accordance with Form 3 in the Schedule and shall make all entries therein without delay. He shall pay all fees received and render a monthly return thereof to the Accountant, Norfolk Island Administration.
