Victoria Class 3 Heavy Vehicle Log Carrying Truck and Dog Trailer Dimension Exemption Notice 2015 (No.1)
1 Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to exempt a stated category of class 3 heavy vehicle used to carry logs in Victoria from the length limit stated in section (3)(1)(a) of Schedule 6 to the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation (the National Regulation).
2 Authorising provision
This Notice is made under section 117 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law as in force in each participating jurisdiction (the HVNL).
3 Title
This Notice may be cited as the Victoria Class 3 Heavy Vehicle Log Carrying Truck and Dog Trailer Dimension Exemption Notice 2015 (No.1).
4 Commencement
This Notice commences on 10 November 2015.
5 Expiry
This Notice expires on 9 November 2016.
6 Definitions
(1) Unless otherwise stated, words and expressions used in this Notice have the same meaning as in the HVNL or regulations made under the HVNL.
(2) In this Notice—
“Log Carrier”, is a heavy combination consisting of a three-axle rigid truck connected to a four-axle dog trailer, used for the purpose of carrying logs.
7 Application
(1) This Notice applies to log carriers as defined in section 6(2).
(2) This Notice applies in Victoria.
8 Exemption from prescribed dimension requirements
This Notice exempts a log carrier from the length limit specified in section 3(1)(a) of Schedule 6 to the National Regulation.
9 Stated areas or roads
A log carrier may use all roads in Victoria.
10 Conditions
(1) The log carrier must not exceed 22m in length.
(2) The log carrier must comply with the mass limits set out in the National Class 3 Heavy Vehicle 19m Truck and Dog Trailer Combination Mass Exemption (Notice) 2014.
