Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission Act 1977.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission Regulations.

Repeal of Tertiary Education Commission Regulations

2. Statutory Rules 1980 Nos. 11 and 256 and 1981 No. 134 are repealed.

Declaration of institutions to be colleges of advanced education for purposes of the Act

3. Each institution specified in Column 2 of the Schedule in an item in the Schedule and located in the State specified in Column 4 of the Schedule in that item is declared, in accordance with sub-section 44 (2) of the Act, to be a college of advanced education for the purposes of the Act.


Declaration of institutions to cease to be colleges of advanced education for purposes of the Act

4. Each institution specified in Column 3 of the Schedule in an item in the Schedule and located in the State specified in Column 4 of the Schedule in that item is declared, in accordance with sub-section 44 (3) of the Act, to cease to be a college of advanced education for the purposes of the Act.

Amalgamation or change of name

5. For the purposes of regulation 4, where an institution is specified in an item in Column 3 of the Schedule and an institution is also specified in Column 2 of the Schedule in that item, the institution so specified in that item in Column 3 of the Schedule shall be taken to be declared to cease to be a college of advanced education by reason of amalgamation with, or change of name to that of, the institution specified in Column 2 in that item.

Application

6. These Regulations apply in relation to an institution specified in an item in the Schedule as if they had come into operation on the date specified in Column 5 of the Schedule in that item or, where more than one date is so specified, on the date so specified in that item opposite the name of that institution.
