Overseas Telecommunications Commission Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Overseas Telecommunications Act 1946.

Regulation 13 of the Overseas Telecommunications Commission Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Prescribed classes for purposes of subsections 23 (4) and 31 (4) of the Act

“13. (1) For the purposes of subsection 23 (4) of the Act, each of the following paragraphs prescribes a class of positions:

(a) positions the maximum salary payable in respect of which is equal to, or greater than, the maximum salary payable in respect of Senior Executive, Level 1;

(b) positions, other than positions to which paragraph (a) applies, in the designations of which the word 'engineer' is used and positions the salary ranges for which are the same as for Engineer Grade 1, Engineer Grade 2, Engineer Grade 3, Engineer Grade 4, Engineer Grade 5 or Supervising Engineer;

(c) positions in the designations of which the word 'drafting', 'draftsperson', 'technical', 'technician' or 'designer' is used other than


positions to which paragraph (a) or (b) applies and other than positions in the designations of which the words 'technical coordinator' are used;

(d) positions in the Maritime Group located at Adelaide, Brisbane, Broome, Carnarvon, Darwin, Esperance, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Rockhampton, Sydney, Thursday Island and Townsville other than positions to which paragraph (a), (b) or (c) applies, and other than positions in the designations of which the word 'manager', 'assistant', 'groundskeeper' or 'cleaner' is used;

(e) positions in the Traffic Group, in the designations of which the word 'officer', 'supervisor' or 'superintendent' is used, other than positions to which paragraph (a), (b), (c) or (d) applies;

(f) positions other than positions to which paragraph (a), (b), (c), (d) or (e) applies, being positions in respect of which the maximum salary payable is equal to, or greater than, the maximum salary payable in respect of the position of Clerk Level 4;

(g) all other positions.

“(2) For the purposes of subsection 31 (4) of the Act, each of the following paragraphs prescribes a class of officers:

(a) officers occupying positions in respect of which the maximum salary payable is equal to, or greater than, the maximum salary payable in respect of the position of Clerk Level 4;

(b) all other officers.”.
