Export Control (General) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Export Control Act 1982.

Commencement
1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 December 1984.
Interpretation
2. Regulation 3 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “dairy produce” and substituting the following definition:
“ ‘dairy produce’ means dairy produce within the meaning of the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations, but does not include—
(a) refined tallow;
(b) any produce wholly or mainly made from vegetable fat; or
(c) margarine within the meaning of those Regulations;”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “grain”.
Declaration of prescribed goods
3. Regulation 4 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended by omitting paragraphs (1) (g), (k), (1) and (m).

4. Regulation 5 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (1) (f).
Modifications of the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations
5. Regulation 7 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (a).
Modifications of the Exports (General) Regulations
6. Regulation 12 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting “5 (k)” and substituting “5 (1) (k)”;
(b) by omitting from paragraph (c) “and”;
(c) by adding after paragraph (d) the following word and paragraph:
“; and (e) references in the First Column of the Second Schedule to the Exports (General) Regulations to the following goods, and to the matters set out in the Second and Third Columns of that Schedule in relation to those goods, were omitted:
(i) Dried Field Peas;
(ii) Horse or Tick Beans;
(iii) Nuts;
(iv) Plants, including parts of plants (except the seed) intended for planting or for the purposes of propagation;
(v) Seeds;
(vi) Dried, split and kibbled peas.”; and
(d) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:
“(2) For the purposes of the reference to prescribed goods in Column 2 of the table in sub-regulation 17 (4), in item 6 in that table, the Exports (General) Regulations shall be read as if references to the goods referred to in sub-paragraphs (1) (e) (i) to (vi), inclusive, were omitted from the First Column of the Second Schedule to those Regulations and as if the matters set out in the Second and Third Columns of that Schedule in relation to those goods were omitted.”.
Repeal of regulation 13
7. Regulation 13 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is repealed.
Notice of intention to export prescribed goods
8. Regulation 21 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) “other than grain”.
Fees for officers’ services
9. Regulation 31 of the Export Control (General) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting paragraph (1) (h); and
(b) by omitting sub-regulation (2).
Further amendments
10. The Export Control (General) Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.
