WE, Justices of the High Court of Australia, make the following rules of court under the Judiciary Act 1903.

1. Name of rules
1.1 These rules are the High Court Amendment Rules 1998 (No. 2).
2. Commencement
2.1 These rules commence on 1 October 1998.
3. Amendment
3.1 The High Court Rules2 are amended as set out in these rules.
4. Order 1, rule 1 (Citation)
4.1 Omit the rule, substitute:

“1. These rules are the High Court Rules 1952.”.
5. Order 68, new rule 2A
5.1 After rule 2, insert:
Form for petition
“2A. A petition disputing an election or return must be in the form numbered 70 in the First Schedule.”.
6 First Schedule
6.1 After Form 69, insert:
