Rice Levy Regulations

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, and having taken into consideration the recommendations made to the Minister for Primary Industries and Energy by a rice industry body, make the following Regulations under the Rice Levy Act 1991.

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Rice Levy Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

Interpretation

 2. (1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“Act” means the Rice Levy Act 1991.

Additional varieties of rice on which levy is payable

 3. For the purposes of the definition of “leviable rice” in section 3 of the Act, the following varieties of rice are prescribed:

 (a) Oryza sativa L. cv. Harra;

 (b) Oryza sativa L. cv. Illabong;

 (c) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRF.9;

 (d) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRF.10;

 (e) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRL.34;

 (f) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRM.34;

 (g) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRM.39;

 (h) Oryza sativa L. cv. YRM.41.

[NOTE: Other varieties of leviable rice are specified in the Schedule to the Act.]
