An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1982

[Assented to 5 June 1987]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Short title etc.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act 1987.

(2) The Customs Tariff Act 19821 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

Commencement

2. (1) Sections 1 and 2 commence on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Section 3 shall be deemed to have commenced at the hour of 8 oclock in the evening by standard time in the Australian Capital Territory on 19 August 1986.


(3) Sections 4 and 12 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 February 1987.

(4) Section 5 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 April 1986.

(5) Section 6 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 October 1986.

(6) Section 7 shall be deemed to have commenced on 16 October 1986.

(7) Section 8 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 November 1986.

(8) Section 9 shall be deemed to have commenced on 17 December 1986.

(9) Section 10 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 January 1987.

(10) Section 11 shall be deemed to have commenced on 17 January 1987.

(11) Section 13 shall be deemed to have commenced on 14 February 1987.

(12) Section 14 shall be deemed to have commenced on 1 March 1987.

(13) Section 15 shall be deemed to have commenced on 10 March 1987.

(14) Section 16 shall be deemed to have commenced on 14 March 1987.

Amendment of Schedule 3 having effect from 8 p.m. on 19 August 1986

3. Schedule 3 to the Principal Act is amended by inserting in paragraph 24.02.91 by after prescribed.

Indexation of rates of duty

4. Section 26a of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from subsection (2) the Table and substituting the following Table:
