States Grants (Schools Assistance) Amendment Act 1980

An Act to amend the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1978 and the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1979, and for related purposes

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
PART I—PRELIMINARY
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Amendment Act 1980.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
PART II—AMENDMENTS OF STATES GRANTS (SCHOOLS ASSISTANCE) ACT 1978
Principal Act
3. The States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1978 is in this Part referred to as the Principal Act.
Limit on grants under section 38
4. Section 39 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$105,500” and substituting “$106,000”.
Limit on grants under section 40
5. Section 41 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$1,469,500” and substituting “$1,482,000”.
Limit on grants under sections 43 and 44
6. Section 45 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$4,051,000” and substituting “$4,073,500”.
Schedules
7. The Schedules to the Principal Act are repealed and the Schedules set out in Schedule 1 to this Act are substituted.
Directions under Principal Act
8. A direction given under sub-section 13(3) of the Principal Act shall, by force of this section, cease to have effect upon the commencement of this Act, but this section shall not be taken to affect the previous operation of the direction.
PART III—AMENDMENT OF STATES GRANTS (SCHOOLS ASSISTANCE) ACT 1979

9. The States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1979 is in this Part referred to as the Principal Act.
Schedules
10. The Schedules to the Principal Act are repealed and the Schedules set out in Schedule 2 to this Act are substituted.
