Meat Legislation Repeal

An Act to repeal certain Legislation relating to Meat, and for purposes connected therewith.

BE it enacted by the Queens Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Meat Legislation Repeal Act 1968.

Commencement.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Repeal.

3. The following Acts are repealed:—Meat Agreement (Deficiency Payments) Act 1955;

Meat Agreement (Deficiency Payments) Act 1956;

Meat Agreement (Deficiency Payments) Act 1964;

Meat Export (Additional Charge) Act 1956;

Meat Export (Additional Charge) Act 1964.

Transfer of Meat Export (Deficiency Payments) Fond to Australian Meat Board.

4. The moneys and investments that, immediately before the commencement of this Act, constituted the Meat Export (Deficiency Payments) Fund maintained by the Australian Meat Board under the Meat Agreement (Deficiency Payments) Act 1955-1966 shall be deemed to be moneys and investments of the Board and may be applied and dealt with by the Board in like manner as any other moneys and investments of the Board.

Bank account in which moneys in the Fund are lodged to be deemed to be account maintained by Board.

5. A bank account in which moneys in the Meat Export (Deficiency Payments) Fund were lodged in accordance with the Meat Agreement (Deficiency Payments) Act 1955-1966 immediately before the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be an account opened and maintained under section 33 of the Meat Industry Act 1964–1966.
