REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the National Security Act 1939 and all other powers me thereunto enabling, hereby make the following Regulations.

Amendments of Wheat Acquisition Regulations.†

Inquiry into cases of alleged hardship.

1. Regulation 20b of the Wheat Acquisition Regulation is amended by omitting the words “ of the commencement of this regulation” and inserting in their stead the words “prior to the first day of September, One thousand nine hundred and forty”.

Powers of Board.

2. Regulation 26 of the Wheat Acquisition Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (d) the word “and”; and

(b) by inserting after paragraph (d) the following paragraph:—

(da) carry, in any ship chartered by it for the carriage of wheat or flour, any other commodity at such rates of freight as the Board, subject to any directions of the Minister, determines; and”.
