REGULATIONS UNDER THE MEAT EXPORT CONTROL ACT 1935.*
I, THE GOVERNOR‑GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Meat Export Control Act 1935.

Meat Export Control (Fees and Expenses) Regulations.
Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Meat Export Control (Fees and Expenses) Regulations.
Fees of chairman and members.
2. The Chairman of the Board shall receive a fee of Four pounds four shillings per diem, and each member, or deputy of a member of the Board while acting as such, shall receive a fee of Two pounds two shillings per diem, for attendance at meetings of the Board, at meetings of the Executive Committee of the Board or at meetings of the Beef Committee of the Board.
Travelling expenses.
3.—(1). Where any member resides at a distance of more than fifteen miles from the place where a meeting of the Board or of the Committee, as the case may be, is held, he shall, subject to this regulation, receive an allowance at the rate of Two pounds two shillings per diem to cover expenses incurred in travelling in connexion with attendance at that meeting.
(2.) When any member travels by steamer, or by Railway, and the fare paid includes subsistence, one quarter only of the allowance specified in the last preceding sub‑regulation shall be paid.
(3.) An allowance shall not be payable under this regulation in respect of any day in respect of which the member receives a fee for attendance at a meeting of the Board or of a Committee in pursuance of the last preceding regulation.
(4.) In addition to the allowance specified in sub‑regulation (1.) of this regulation, a member shall be reimbursed the return fares actually and necessarily incurred in travelling from his place of residence to the place where the meeting is held:

Provided that where the member travels by air and the amount of the fare exceeds the amount which would have been payable if he had travelled by rail or steamer, he shall not be entitled to reimbursement of the excess except with the approval of the Minister.
(5.) In this regulation, “member” means a member of the Board or of the Executive Committee of the Board or the Beef Committee of the Board, and includes the Chairman of the Board and any deputy of a member of the Board.
