I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1927 to come into operation forthwith.

Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Australian Military Forces and Senior Cadets.

(Statutory Rules 1926, No. 211, as amended to this date.)

Amendments.

1. Paragraph (i) of Regulation 68 is amended by cancelling the words, etc.: “(c) Member of the armament Artificers Corps, £5”, and substituting the words, etc.: (c) Member of the Armament Artificer Section, A.A.O.C. (Permanent), £5”.

2. Paragraph (5) of Regulation 100 is cancelled and the following substituted therefor:-

(5.) Members who are on leave of absence for more than one month shall have a proportionate part of their annual pay deducted for the period of such absence, computed on the basis of one-twelfth of the annual rate of pay for each month of absence, provided that a deduction shall not be made in respect of the first month of absence except when payment for that month is made to another member for performing the duties of the member on leave.”

3. The footnote to Regulation 101 which reads—

“Half days may be paid for at one-half and night drills of a minimum duration of one and a half hours at one-quarter, and night drills of a minimum duration of two hours, at one-third of the above rates.”

is cancelled.

4. The following Regulation 103 is inserted after Regulation 102:—

“103. Payment for attendance at parades of members whose rates of pay are shown in Regulation 101 shall be made in accordance with the respective designations of the parades in the Unit’s programme of parades and with the following:—

(a) For a parade designated as a half-day parade—a half day’s pay irrespective of the hours of day or night in which the parade is held;

(b) (i) For a parade designated a night parade and of a minimum duration of one and a half hours—one-quarter of a day’s pay;

(ii) For a parade designated a night parade and of a minimum duration of two hours—one-third of a day’s pay”

5. Paragraph (e) of Regulation 122 is cancelled and the following substituted therefor:—

“(e) Members who are on leave of absence for more than one month shall have a proportionate part of their annual pay deducted for the period of such absence computed on the basis of one-twelfth of the annual rate of pay for each month of absence, provided that the pay allocated for the period of continuous training shall first be deducted, and that a deduction shall not be made in respect of the first month of absence except when payment for that month is made to another member for performing the duties of the member on leave.”
