An Act to amend the Maternity Allowance Act 19121926.

[Assented to 22nd December, 1927.]

BE it enacted by the Kings Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Maternity Allowance Act 1927.

(2.) The Maternity Allowance Act 19121926 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Maternity Allowance Act 19121927.

Who may be claimants.

2. Section six of the Principal Act is amended by inserting at the end of sub-section (2.) the following proviso:—

Provided that a woman who is an alien by reason of her marriage to an alien shall not, in consequence only of her alienage, be subject to the disqualification contained in this sub-section..
