REGULATIONS UNDER THE EXPORT GUARANTEE ACT 1924–1925.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, do hereby make the following Regulations under the Export Guarantee Act 1924-1925, to come into operation forthwith.

Hop Regulations.

Short title.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Hop Regulations.

Definitions.

2.—(1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

“Assistance” means assistance under section 5 of the Export Guarantee Act 1924-1925, in respect of hops produced in Tasmania prior to the year One thousand nine hundred and twenty-five and unsold by the grower of the hops;

“Minister’’ means Minister for Markets and Migration;

“Pool” means the Tasmanian Hopgrowers’ Pool, Limited;

“Grower” means a grower of hops produced in Tasmania.

(2) Any reference in these Regulations to a Form shall, unless the contrary intention appears, be read as a reference to a Form in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Application by Secretary of Pool.

(3) An application for assistance to a grower who is a member of the Pool shall be made by the Secretary to the Pool in accordance with Form 1, and shall be accompanied by—

(a) an undertaking in accordance with Form 2;

(b) an agreement by the grower in accordance with Form 3; and

(c) a Statutory Declaration in accordance with Form 4.

Application by grower not a member of Pool.

(4) An application for payment by a grower who is not a member of the Pool shall be in accordance with Form 5, and shall be accompanied by a Statutory Declaration in accordance with Form 6.

Receipt to be given by member of Pool.

(5) A grower who is a member of the Pool shall give to the Secretary of the Pool a receipt in accordance with Form 7 for the amount received by him from the Secretary of the Pool.

Inspection of accounts.

(6) All accounts relating to hops in respect of which an application for assistance is made under these Regulations, kept by the Pool or by any grower, shall, at all reasonable times, be open to inspection by the Minister, or an officer appointed by the Minister in that behalf, and shall be audited from time to time by the Auditor-General of the Commonwealth.
